Fire Police Orientation

Instructional Hours: 9.00

Course Objective: To provide the necessary information and skills for a member of the fire police to safely direct traffic and perform other safety-related duties at emergencies and special events.

Course Description: Major topics covered in the course include personal conduct and professional duties, traffic control, road flare and traffic cone placement, crowd control, hazardous materials laws, regulations, and standards, use of the North American Emergency Response Guidebook and helicopter operations.

Course Outcome: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the scene of emergency incidents and non-emergency events.
