Emergency Medical Technician Continuing Education Online

Instructional Hours: 12.00

Course Objective: To provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to satisfy the 12 hour didactic requirements for Maryland EMT recertification.

Course Description: This online, self-paced course provides twelve hours of continuing education in medical assessment and trauma care. Major topics covered in the course are derived from the Maryland medical protocols for EMS providers. .

Successful Completion: Students must successfully complete all of the required online course material within 30 days of the course start date. Partial credit is not awarded.

Continuing Education: In order to complete the Maryland requirements for recertification as an EMT, the student must also register for and successfully complete a 12-hour practical skills program (EMS 202) in addition to this online course.NOTE: This course cannot be used for reciprocity.

Prerequisites

Students must be a current, licensed Maryland Emergency Medical Technician.
